Community Cafe 2025

Inviting the local community to spend a day with us and learn about art!

On Saturday the 19th of July we organised an open day and community café at Catfarm.

This was another opportunity for us to co-create an event – all the volunteers onsite came together to make this happen. We did a deep clean of the space, our designer Ari Lótus made the poster, we connected with our network and stuck posters around the neighbouring villages and towns. On the day we had a team of facilitators, cooks and a photographer bringing everything to life!

The intention for the day was to invite friends, neighbours, partners and curious folk to come and experience a day in our eco-community and share our vision for a regenerative present and future.

We started the day with a hearty breakfast, welcoming our guests and enjoying the morning together, getting to know eachother.

Dara, Nico and Helo then lead the group on a tour of the space, sharing stories and explaining the different projects and dreams we have onsite – from ecobuilding, to our syntropic gardens down at Catau.

We shared a hearty lunch – all vegan and prepared by our lovely volunteers. Giving our guests a taste of what and how we eat together here.

It was a hot summer day, so there was a lot of chatting in the shade.  Sharing stories about hope and and experiencing community together.

Blu, Tia and Nicole then organised an art workshop for people to paint using natural pigments. Tia, as textile artist in residence also shared some of her upcycled fashion work with the group.

Helo then led a guided meditation session on the terrace, which was so relaxing that people fell asleep!

In the afternoon a jam session organically started and we ended the day in music!
