ESC Volunteering at Catfarm

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is at the heart of life at Catfarm. Every year, we welcome 6 young volunteers for a long-term (9,5 months) experience of community living, sustainability, and hands-on learning in the South of France.

What Volunteers Do

ESC volunteers become full members of our eco-community.

They join one of our main circles, the teams that keep Catfarm alive:

  • Garden Circle – Permaculture, syntropic agroforestry and reforestation.
  • InfraBuilding Circle – Natural construction, maintenance, eco-design and low-impact systems.
  • Art Circle – Creative workshops, cultural events, art residencies.
  • Balance Circle – Inclusion, well-being and community harmony.
  • Vision Circle – Project coordination, communication and future transformations.

Everyone also contributes to the Life Circle, supporting daily routines such as cooking, food sorting, animal care, DIY products, and space maintenance.

Learning at Catfarm

Volunteering here is not only about tasks , it is an immersive journey into regenerative living, cooperation, and personal transformation. You will learn through practice, peer-to-peer learning, weekly reflection, and active participation in community life. During the project, volunteers also support local activities, Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, events and workshops, gaining skills in teamwork, facilitation, project management and sustainable practices.

Who Can Join

The ESC programme is open to people who are:

  • 18–30 years old
  • From ESC-participating countries
  • Comfortable with intermediate English
  • Open to living in a vegan, alcohol- and drug-free environment

Accommodation, food, insurance and pocket money are provided through ESC.

The Spirit of the Project

At Catfarm, ESC volunteers explore what it means to live with intention, in balance with themselves, with others, and with the life in general.
