Go to Catfarm if…
You like meeting beautiful authentic people, learning about sustainability, (self-sufficiency, ecovillage & community life on a small scale), random jam sessions (and random unorthodox weddings), beatboxing (and actual boxing), massage workshops (as well as workshops or lectures on biochar, relationships & more), cats in the sink, beautiful golden hours, going to the beach with a bunch of hippies, partying, dancing (), cuddles and more cuddles, DIY everything, yummy food, sleeping outside (or in tents, a car or in a gorgeous tipi!), awesome weather, the one local bar in Poussan, chickens in your bed, and so much more… (not to mention the endless little projects and chores which keep the place running ). I was only there for a couple of exciting days, but I am so happy to have connected with amazing people. The community is made up of a few “core cats” with most people coming and going, so you never know what you’re gonna get . It’s exciting to stay for a week but it’s necessary to stay for probably a month to really support the vision of the community – which is mainly being developed by Ulysses (tech development and introduction of “farmbots”) as well as other core cats. I’m excited to see what comes next! Especially looking forward to seeing new gardens, data collection systems and a new DIY dishwashing soap recipe! I feel so recharged after a week in a community & feel so much more myself. One of the elements I think I love the most is TOUCH. The ways of connecting in ecovillages everywhere I go is so much more comforting and loving than in “normal society”. I will bring all my favorite concepts from ecovillages that I love so much into my life at uni There are so many inspiring solutions/other ways of living that are so much more fulfilling – being developed in ecovillages, from self-sufficiency to how we connect with other humans – all methods we can apply to other environments as well. Ecosystem = we are all a community. Be the change you want to see! Thanks, Cats, for having me I hope we meet again!
